The original is never changed.
Upload a file by answering two questions. Lawyer Diary keeps its hash and versions, reads its text in Hindi and English, and logs every open.
Upload and keep
Two questions, not a form
Which hearing is it for, and what kind of paper is it? Lawyer Diary records the rest for you: who, when, size and hash.
New versions, old ones kept
A new version is saved next to the old one. The original never changes, and its hash proves it.
Read for text
Scanned orders and uploads are read by OCR in Hindi and English. You can then search their text, page by page.
Who opened what
Every open, download and refused access is logged with time and device. A paper filed in the suit also shows on the appeal, without making a copy.
Draft with the file
Templates with merge fields
Starter templates include reply to an interim application, legal notice, vakalatnama, application for adjournment and written submissions. They fill in the parties, court and dates from the file.
Locked clauses and a clause library
Partners lock clauses that must not change, and associates draft around them. Reusable clauses are kept in one place. You can cite a recorded authority in a draft.
Review and approve
Add comments, compare changes and approve. Approving locks that version. Invoices, drafts and paper books are made as PDF.
Evidence and the bundle
Exhibit register
Mark each exhibit against a witness, a side and the issues it proves. Evidence photographed at court is queued on the phone and added to the register with its document.
Issue × evidence matrix
See which issue has no evidence yet, before the other side does. Create follow-up tasks to fill the gaps.
Paper book in minutes
Pages are numbered straight through, and the index with page ranges is made for you. Every range has a hash, and you are warned if a document changes after the book is built.
Filing pack with format checks
The pack has the index, page numbers, signature and verification sheets, and the court fee from the built-in fee schedule. Nine registry checks run, including vakalatnama attached and binding margin. Where a court has e-filing support it files for you. If not, you get the download, a checklist and a task for the clerk to confirm.
Mail and client uploads
Email-to-file
Every case has its own e-mail address. Mail from a verified firm address is filed as documents, with body and attachments. Mail from anyone else waits in quarantine until a partner files or discards it.
Clients upload too
Photos and PDFs that clients send through the portal are read by OCR and filed to the case.
What this looks like on a real day
Filing day
The registry wants a page-numbered paper book with an index and a verification affidavit.
A summons photographed in the corridor
A client sends a photo of the summons through the portal.
Which version did we file?
The other side's counsel says a different draft was served.
A bank's reply by e-mail
A reply comes to the case's own e-mail address.
These are example stories. The names and matters are made up. The features are real.
